January - February 2007
The new year hit with a bang! Rather a frozen
bang - January went into the freezing weather and then the very freezing weather.
Only a little snow but enough to protect the perennials. Then the bitter cold
continued into February and finally, the middle of the month we got our first big snow
storm in 2 years. Here on the mid coast of Maine, we got 10-12" of snow and
then the rain started, soaking the fluffy snow, making it very heavy and leaving a 2"
coating of ice on top of the snow - very bad for plowing!
